Overview
I designed and facilitate a 4-week AI Product Management course at AltSchool Africa, one of Africa's leading tech education platforms. The course is built for beginner Product Managers who want to work at the frontier of product and AI, not just learn about it from the sidelines.
The Problem
Most Product Management education treats AI as a topic to understand rather than a tool to wield. The result is a generation of product managers who can describe what AI does but cannot use it to move faster, make better decisions, or ship more effectively than their peers. In a market where AI is rapidly compressing the time it takes to go from idea to product, that gap is career-defining.
The Approach
The curriculum is built around a single north star: raise PMs who can build AI products and move faster and more effectively than their peers because they are AI-powered.
The course is structured around the Anthropic 4D Framework (Delegation, Description, Discernment, Diligence) as a backbone thread across all four weeks. Modules cover AI Literacy, the AI Product Manager Role, the Framework in Practice, and a final "Ship It" capstone. Every assessment is designed as a single-effort, dual-output artifact: a LinkedIn post that feeds directly into the Week 4 capstone, where students build and deploy a live product prototype.
The focus is not just on understanding AI but on using it daily as a Product Manager: for research synthesis, spec writing, prioritisation, user interviews, and rapid prototyping. Students leave with a shipped product, a public portfolio, and the muscle memory to work AI-first.

Impact
Students graduate not just knowing what AI is but knowing how to use it as a competitive advantage. They can move faster through discovery, write clearer specs, prototype without engineering support, and make decisions backed by AI-assisted analysis. That is the edge. A Product Manager who is AI-powered does not just keep up with the pace of modern product development, they set it.
